FAQ

When is the RSVP deadline?

The deadline for RSVP is September 14, 2024. This will be a plated-dinner so it is imperative that we have a count and meal selection by this date.

What time should we arrive?

The Ceremony will start promptly at 3:00pm. However, pre-ceremony cocktails will be available starting at 2:00pm. Once the ceremony starts, you will not be allowed to enter until it ends. So we advise you to arrive between 2pm-2:45pm.

Are children welcome?

We love the kids and are VERY proud and supportive Aunties, but children are not allowed unless we have pre-approved.

What is the dress code for the event?

Semi-formal, meaning no jeans, shorts, or gym shoes. Our color scheme is shades of melanin, so we ask that everyone wear shades of brown or natural tones (no white). It’s not mandatory, although we think it would be beautiful to see the various shades in the audience.

Where do we park?

Fort Pontchartrain offers Valet that can be accessed on W Larned St between Washington & Shelby. If you don’t want to use Valet, there’s street/metered parking and an independent lot just across the street.

Have you reserved hotel room blocks?

Yes! Visit our travel page here to book your stay.

Do you have a hashtag for your wedding?

Yes! It’s #thecobuas that can be used on social media. Although the ceremony is unplugged, you will be allowed to capture moments during the cocktail hour and throughout the reception.

How do you pronounce your last names?

Patrice’s last name is pronounced COKE-LEE. Agnes’ last name is Nigerian and is pronounced ALI-OH-BWA.

Will "Cobua" be your new last name?

Pronounced CO-BWA… No. Cobua is a combination of our last names that we’re using as a brand name. Since we both have unique names that we take much pride in carrying, we’ll more than likely hyphenate (Cokley-Aleobua) if we choose to legally change our names later.

Why Detroit when you live in Cleveland?

We’re both Detroit natives. We chose to rep our hometown and make it easier for the majority of our family and guests to attend.
